After you have netted Mrs carp what do you do............get the unhooking mat wet , un-hook the fish but what do you do with the hook hold damage to the mouth. Do you use a fish care antiseptic..........if not you should be doing so and what have you found the best on the market............I know only the fish can tell you but the gel's normally stay on longer don't they ?

I find that if I don't have any antisceptic, a quick peck on the kisser seems to do the trick! The strange thing is, when it's a woman and not a fish I'm kissing they seem to want the antisceptic after the kiss!

I normaly wet the unhooking mat, unhook the fish and if needed place some antiseptic on the hook hold (Which i have run out of oops) must get some tomorrow. Then take the picture if required, then hold her in the water until she is ready to swim away, which i think is one of the best bits seeing the fish you have just caught go swimming away.

I have used Klinik for several years, topped up with vaseline to stop the antiseptic from being washed away.

calgel teething gel, is that more or less expensive then the antiseptics that are on the market at the moment?
Because if it is then i may as well use that if it doesn't harm the fish.

Klinik, used it for years my self, but it's quite expensive so a cheaper alternative is an option, and as for OOandrus only using just one tube in three seasons then you wont to get out fishing more.
One tube would only last me one season unless i had chronic tooth ache, then one session ;D
