I am using Windows XP on my computer and they are releasing a service pack no:2 for it. Do i have to download it which will take ages and ages or can i purchase a cd and load it on my computer in my own time.

Yes but I have been informed that it takes ages to up load cd for me i'm afraid,though not sure if that will be quicker,also the time you are online viruses can attack your computer or so I am told...

There is a site that you can use to stop viruses from attacking your computer while the download is going on download ZoneAlarm first and after installation has completed, download the service pack 2 from windows updates. www.zonelabs.com/store/content/home.jsp

Dont install the pack if you have a less than legal XP you will have to reinstall everything

I have installed it on my computer it took about 30 minutes to load up, but i had service pack 1 already installed. It can depending take up to 2 hours to load in some case's i have been told. I know of 5 that have installed it and it took 30 minutes.

i er cant use it at the moment, stupid M$, saw a preview of longhorn today at work very nice, very easy on the eye, got lots of nice blue screens as well mind you but like i say its just a beta/preview

I got the service pack 2 CD delivered to day with all the updates on the disk with it,saves waiting for it to download from the Internet.

When you install it leave your anti-virus software on as windows will find it. I have a built in firewall and pop up stopper but i had to turn off the windows pop up stopper as it can sometimes compete with the one you have installed on you computer already.
