Today I set up at 0900 hrs in Northlands park (Pitsea) using 2 rods, one was on a float and size 16 hook, the other I ledgered using a size 10 hook and a swim feeder.
For bait, I was using red maggot and sweetcorn.
I had a bad feeling about the session, I was trying out an un familiar swim and wasn't at all comfortable.
I had a couple of bites that led to nothing on the ledger and about 30 mins into the session the float started twitching then under it went, it felt very much like a small roach on the end, however, when I got it in, I had a baby carp, it was a beutiful little thing, it was only a couple of oz's, it was the size a my palm.
I carried on until about 1600 only managing two roach the whole time, I got fed up and went home.
