Since the consept of the knotless knot, rig making for the Carp, Tench and Barbel angler has been revolutionized and it is so simple to tie.

I even use the knotless knot for catfish fishing by putting 2 x 20mm boilies on the hair.

Brilliant it is so versatile, and never slips either.

As you say, so easy and quick to tie. I would be interested on your opinions on the length of hair you use and why. I normally use a longish hair.

A lot of the time i keep the hair short but i do sometimes use a longer hair, it depends on the bait size i am using a lot of the time to how short / long the hair is.

Mine are kept very short to pin the bait tight to the bend of the hook, I find this stops the bait masking the hook or worse still the hook point sticking into the bait.
If I were to use a long hair I would have to make sure I put some P.V.A foam over the point of the hook to stop this from happening.
