Paul Hunt fished the 110 acre Rainbow Lake near Bordeaux and was soon into a fish of 40lb-2oz, then nothing for several days, before getting a few liners followed by a slow take, the fight only lasted approximately ten minutes before Paul slipped the net under the fish a 74lb-9oz Mirror, setting a venue record.

Well it was nothing like the 74 lb er above, in fact I don't know exactly how much it was.
I decided to go night fishing over a local lake, I had a rod set up for basicaly anything that was hungry, I had a size 8 hook and a weighted swimfeeder, the hook had about 8 red maggots on it and the swim feeder was packed with bread crum, sweetcorn and maggots, all soaked in a pineapple flavour.
I cast my other rod out and was sinking the line when the bite alarm went off, I thought I had crossed lines and checked with a torch, they went in completely different directions and the bite alarm was still going so I struck into it, the line tightend, the rod bent over and I thought I was hooked on the bottom coz it was going nowhere, I was just getting ready to break off when the line screamed off across the lake, I couldn't beleive it, this was the first time I had had such a bite.
It played for about 10 - 15 minutes then I eventualy got the fish in the net, I couldn't beleive my eyes, it was the biggest fish I had ever caught, it was a Common Carp and must have gone 10 lb.
As you can imagine, I was well chuffed, there I was all alone in the park, jumping around like a nutter.
I'm affraid I only had my mobile phone which has a camera on it, I forgot to take the digi cam with me, I think I will get me self another camera for my tackle box then I have no excuse and can show off the 26lb er that has my name on it.
